Einleitung

Die Mannschafts-Weltmeisterschaft der Herren 2011 in Paderborn sind wohl noch allen deutschen Squashfans in bester Erinnerung. Die Organisatoren, allen voran der Paderborner Squash Club setzte mit der Veranstaltung neue Maßstäbe.

Diesmal ist der Französische Squash Verband an der Reihe, das wohl wichtigste Event der World Squash Federation (WSF) auszurichten. Das grenznahe Mulhouse hat beste Voraussetzungen es zumindest gleich zu tun.

32 Nationen werden ihre besten Spieler nach Mulhouse schicken. Favorit dürfte Titelverteidiger Ägypten sein, gefolgt von England und Frankreich. Das Deutsche Team um Bundestrainer Oliver Pettke dürfte mit Simon Rösner, Jens Schoor, Raphael Kandra und André Haschker gute Chancen haben, einen Platz im Viertelfinale zu erkämpfen.
